How to cancel Spotify
Cancel Spotify at www.spotify.com/account/subscription. Sign in, then work through to the final confirmation screen.
Step by step
- Go to spotify.com/account and sign in
- Open 'Manage your plan' → 'Change plan'
- Scroll to Spotify Free and choose 'Cancel Premium'
What they don't tell you
- Premium stays active until the end of the paid period - you are not refunded the remainder.
- Playlists and saved music survive cancellation; downloads do not.
There is a cheaper option first
Spotify sometimes offers 3 months at a reduced rate on the cancel-confirmation screen. Click through to the final step before deciding.
If you subscribed through Apple
Spotify cannot cancel a subscription that Apple bills. On your iPhone open
Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Spotify and cancel there.
Check the receipt: if it came from Apple, that is your route.
