How to cancel YouTube Premium
Cancel YouTube Premium at www.youtube.com/paid_memberships. Sign in, then work through to the final confirmation screen.
Step by step
- Open youtube.com/paid_memberships while signed in
- Choose 'Manage membership' → 'Deactivate'
- Confirm - Premium runs to the end of the period
What they don't tell you
- If you subscribed in the iOS app, Google cannot cancel it; use Settings → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
- Pausing (up to 6 months) is offered before cancelling and still stops the charge.
There is a cheaper option first
YouTube offers a pause of up to six months rather than a discount.
If you subscribed through Apple
YouTube Premium cannot cancel a subscription that Apple bills. On your iPhone open
Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose YouTube Premium and cancel there.
Check the receipt: if it came from Apple, that is your route.
